Introducing our new GCSE group sessions for 2026-27,

I gained a PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status from Reading University in 2020. For several years, I taught English in a secondary school in Slough, where I worked with mixed ability classes from Years 7 to 12. My students included LA (low ability) learners, a diverse group of SEN students, and HA (high ability) learners. In professional appraisals, I was recognized as an excellent teacher with impressive subject knowledge.
Since 2024, I have been providing private tutoring, emphasizing GCSE English success for all my students. All of my students, both those I tutored privately and those from school, achieved success in their GCSE English Literature exams in 2023, 2024, and 2025. Furthermore, all my students passed their GCSE English Language assessments in 2024 and 2025.
In June/July 20206, I marked English Language Paper 2 for AQA. This experience has given me a profound understanding of what is necessary for students to achieve GCSE English success, particularly in my work with tutoring for SEN students to help them pass and secure better grades.
I have a BA (hons) in Humanities and an MSc in Integrated Healthcare. Qualified by Star Child Yoga, I teach yoga to children aged 4-24. I also hold a PTLLS qualification to provide tutoring for SEN students and teach adults. Additionally, I possess a professional qualification in complementary therapy, contributing to a well-rounded approach that supports GCSE English success.
I worked as a complementary therapist for 20 years, specializing in addiction therapy with private clients and in mainstream services. This experience has allowed me to engage with a diverse range of individuals, including those who are hard-to-reach. Additionally, I have a background in education, where I focus on GCSE English success and tutoring for SEN students. My first job after leaving university was in trade journalism.
When issues such as self-confidence, trauma, SEN, health, and others hinder a child's ability to attend school or engage while there, my unique skill set can help them regain their footing. My focus is on motivation, happiness, and fun in teaching, which is essential for GCSE English success. Conversely, if your child finds school uninteresting because the teacher isn't able to challenge them, I can step in. I offer specialized tutoring for SEN students, and with my articulate and analytical approach, along with excellent subject knowledge, I can help high achievers make remarkable progress.
